BIOGRAFIE

Lick And A Promise emerge in the summer of 2006 near Frankfurt, Germany, when Manuel Elsesser (g) and Jochen W. Thoma (voc) take fate in their own hands, teaming up to produce the rock band's debut album "A Bitch Is A Bitch". While favorable critics and good reviews keep gaining them airplay, the group goes on to reach the German finals at the international "Bodog Battle of the Bands" contest.

With Ulli "Dag" Bieber (dr, perc) and Volker "Wolfman" Thoma (bg, org) complementing what would later become the classic original line-up, Lick And A Promise hit the road in 2009 with a brand-new, all-acoustic show – to both the surprise and delight of their growing fan base.

In late 2010 the band eventually puts out the much-anticipated follow-up to their debut album, "Come Together In (...) Mehr anzeigenThe Morning", while their first US West Coast tour is taking them to legendary venues such as the "House of Blues" and the "Viper Room" on the world-famous Sunset Strip in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA.

Back home Lick And A Promise are featured at the "Newcomer Show" on major radio station Bayern 3 and ultimately, in September, being awarded "Band of the Year 2011" by Main-Post Media Group and Thomann, Europe's biggest music store.

2012 is off to a good start, with the band debuting live on national TV and sees the release of "Hell Mama" – a limited edition promo EP – during their second US trip in August.

Following a nationwide concert hall tour in support of their old buddy Andreas Kümmert in 2014, Lick And A Promise spend the rest of the year in the studio working on material for their full-length sophomore album. Slightly delayed, the long-awaited new record "Thieves" is finally released in June 2015 and will be celebrated with the band headlining this year's iconic "Woodstock Forever" festival, Germany's finest hippie gathering.
