The Mitch Hillford Front

One of the most original young bands in Europe today - With their new album, aptly entitled "Music From The Front", the four boys from northern Germany try to break the borders of commercial pop music.
Born in '85, singer and guitarist Hillford has been a music lover since he first listened to the old blues records in his father's collection as a child. After trying out the drums, piano and taking violin lessons, he finally chose the guitar as his instrument and taught himself how to play, jamming to the records of John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and the Allman Brothers.
During high school he became member of various local bands, playing rock and jazz until he founded his own blues band in 2004. They recorded an album and went on tour before breaking up in 2006. Mehr anzeigenformed about three years later and made an impression on critics and listeners alike with their funky combination of classic improvised blues and well conceived jazz-fusion.

From their critically acclaimed first attempt to show how modern blues should sound like, "Trouble In Mind" to touring with legends like the fabulous Mitch Ryder, the band has become an undeniable part of the scene today.

In 2013, Hillford released the second, well received album "Music From The Front" which features guitarist Richie Arndt and has been celebrated as one of the best blues and jazz records out of germany in 2013.

Friends gather once a year around christmas to celebrate Mitch and his Band during the "White Room Blues Night". Among them are Gregor Hilden and Greg Copeland who agree that Mitch has become one of the most unique guitarists in Europe.

Mitch and his gang of experienced musicians have finally found their own unique way to interpret blues and jazz while blending them with pop and rock influences. Even if the guitar takes the bigger share of solos and spotlight, there is plenty of virtuoso playing and tasty tones from bass, keyboards and drums as well.
