Maya Princess

Influenced by early HipHop and Drun’n’Bass Maya Princess started her dj career in the beginning 1990ies where she had various residencies at well-known clubs in St. Pauli/Hamburg. In her breathtaking dj-sets Maya Princess combines jungle tunes with up-to-date Drum'n'Bass. She played together with Kemistry & Storm, Rob Playford, Dom, JMJ, Sahin, Sutekh, DJ Dick, Neotropic, Apache 69, Jamie Lidell, Grant and Cylob.

Referring to her own productions Maya Princess likes to break borders and explore different aspects of sound. Her music is released on various labels. In February 2006 she launched her own label called “Rudel Records” together with baze.djunkiii.

Beside dj-ing Maya Princess is writing turntable compositions. Some of her most aspiring compositions were for dj and philharmonic orc (...) Mehr anzeigenhestra. Together with the Helios Kammerphilharmonie from Hannover they performed two compositions cycles "Crossfade - Club meets Classics" and "Philharmonic Phunk" at several concerts all over Germany in 2003 and 2004. Many of her turntable performances were also shown at several galleries, museums and festivals as Sonar (Barcelona, 2004) and Transmediale (Berlin, 2005). Weniger anzeigen
