Bio/Info

Ron started playing at age 12 back in the mid 70's, the age of classic rock and the golden age of FM radio, after jamming around for a few years with other guys from the neighborhood, then came the turning point when Ron saw Ratt and SOUND BARRIER playing live in Hollywood, being inspired Ron formed his first band called “ARZ NOVA”, a progressive metal trio with an occasional vocalist, the band played back yard parties, it was great just to be out there having fun, things progressed in 1987-88 when Ron put together a really good metal band called “MONSTER ZERO”, (the original as a matter of fact) featuring Wayne Louie on drums and Isaias Camarena on bass, the band lasted until 1991 when Wayne and Isaias moved on to pursue other endeavors, next was the band CAUTION with Steve Morton on co-l (...) Mehr anzeigenead guitar, Cedric Todmann on bass and vocals, and Dave Listen on drums, at their highpoint we were compared to Racer X by Chris Leibundgut who writes for RockHard magazine, Caution disbanded in 1993 due to personnel issues, in 1994 Ron met Adwin Brown, poet musician, writer artist, who mentioned that he needed a new guitar player for an ongoing musical project called PEACE AND FIRE, so Ron auditioned and got the job as his guitarist, at the same time Ron formed the UFO tribute Lights Out, shortly thereafter a friend mentioned Ron’s name to Rod Palmer who was starting a rap-core project YEAR OF THE DRAGON, and needed a guitar player to play on the upcoming CD to be released, and also play subsequent promotional gigs Ron happily agreed, after that project was completed, Adwin called Ron with the news that he'd gotten a deal with telarc records to record two albums with a project called “Bluezeum”, Ron played on the second album and co-write the track “Boom” with Adwin, Dexter Story, and Grammy award winning producer and arranger Rick Hahn, Bluezeum also made an appearance at the San Diego jazz festival in the GASLIGHT district, Ron also kept busy doing the UFO tribute which later expanded to a BAD COMPANY tribute for a short time, then Ron got a call from former “YOTD” drummer John Montgomery who now had his own band who needed a new guitarist, the band being a reincarnation of the famous or infamous “BOTTOM 12”, the new band was first called “DEEP FRIED JEDI; sort of alternative rock meets punk meets progressive, very different, but cool, Ron joined the band and began playing around LA, later, the band changed their name to “Cakecutter” to avoid any legal issues because of the reference to Jedi, Ron played with Cakecutter until March of 2001, then parted ways because of musical differences. The band later went on to record songs for the Jackass movie soundtrack.
In 2002 Ron moved to Berlin to settle down and get married, Ron joined a band called” TRANSGRESS”, fronted by a half Greek half German female singer, produced by Job a childhood friend of Rudolph , Michael Schenker and Klaus Meine in Hannover, the band released a vinyl LP and companion cd then disbanded, Ron also played with a number of artists in and around Berlin, e.g., Varik Grant, George Williams, Tony Hurdle, to name a few, Ron also played a brief stint in the Motorhead tribute “Motorock” and in October 2010, after 21 years Monster Zero reunited and returned to the studio to record a full length cd to be released in 2012 with the original lineup of Cox, Louie, and Camarena.
