HAGNÄS

Born and raised bilingual on the West coast in Finland, HAGNÄS never understood why she should stick to one language, when it's the song choosing the language anyway.

In the solitude of the Finnish forest she started producing her debut album using only one microphone and one guitar and finished it in her home studio in Berlin. The outcome is minimalistic nordic folk, raw and atmospheric and hopeful though melancholic. English, Finnish and Swedish take turns in exploring topics of faith in yourself, hope for healing, and love, where home is. Often the honest and intimate result reminds of Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Nick Drake cat power.

With hundreds of concerts under her belt from busking, house concerts and festivals, she is always on the quest to touch people; through live concert (...) Mehr anzeigens, recording and film. Three songs from the first EP Music were synched to an award winning documentary and her first score to a short film was named after the title song Hunajaa from the album. The song Wostok Lake was selected for the Listen to Berlin compilation and if you listen closely you can hear sounds of crushing ice and crispy snow. Weniger anzeigen
