Maximilian Derkum

In the beginning, there was rhythm. In my family, music was always and still is an important component and constant companion. So, it was just a matter of time before I started to play an instrument. At age 9, I took my first stab at the drums. It was loud. Very loud. And that’s how I liked it! My father owns a white Fender Stratocaster. I first got my hands on it when I was about 12, and from that moment on it was clear: I’d found my world! There followed phases when I played for 12 hours a day. My first band wasn’t far behind, and many others followed. Then came nation-wide concert tours and numerous studio recording sessions. Over the last few years, I’ve dedicated myself more and more to the production side of things. Now with two professional qualifications in the areas of audio engin (...) Since spring 2013, I have concentrated exclusively on working as an independent music producer, songwriter and musician.
