Hotels Dubai Bahrain 1984 - Fender Jazz Bass 1970-71 Got a bass amp ( WEM ER 40 + 1x15 speaker ) on “tick” and joined my first “proper” band “Cowboys don′t Cry”, tried to play like Andy Fraser and Billy Cox and developed a secret passion for Tamla and Stax.
Started an apprenticeship as printer. Learned nothing, except how to successfully feign headaches or nausea on Friday afternoons to enable me to skive off earlier to the gig.

1971-72 Got regular gigs with semi-pro Rock′n′Roll showband “Alec Winston and the Flintstones”. Alec was a 40+ ex military bandleader and swing drummer who instilled in me. The momentous importance of timing, and paid between 3 and 5 quid a gig….but! I had to w (...) Mehr anzeigenear a fake-fur leotard! Got a car (Morris 1000 Traveller) and persuaded my granddad to lend me 100 quid for a Fender Precision after my dad kept saying “learn to play the one you′ve got first”. Quit my apprenticeship! (got the sack actually). Discovered the fantastic “Patto” at the Black Swan in Sheffield and became a lifelong fan.

1972-76 Joined two cool guitarist brothers in a band called “Hot Property” Great songs and a whole bunch of new influences, Little Feat, The Meters…played rock clubs and colleges supporting and regularly getting blown away by the likes of Thin Lizzy and Coliseum II.

Pleasure 1985 - 1964 Fender Jazz Bass Did my first tours of Holland and Germany. Punk arrived!!! Got spat on and called a “boring old fart”. I was 23 at the time. Discovered The Crusaders and Weather Report!...thought to myself, “If he′s a bassplayer, (Jaco) what the f*** am I doing”? Studied a bit, listened a lot, played a lot and decided that I′d already missed too much musical education and training to have a chance of catching up to the likes of Jaco, but I wasn′t going to allow that to deter me from making music as good as possible...my way!

1977-80 Joined a pro Soul band “The Vagabonds” (ex Jimmy James and...) and moved to Sheffield. Got into the Funk and played and drove throughout the UK with occasional trips to Germany and Holland. Re-named “Big Business”, our favourites were: Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, Gino Vanelli, Chaka Khan and heaps of irritating instrumental music known as “Jazz Funk”. This, we had to listen to up and down the motorway, simply because the varying drummers in the band (with the exception of Pete Wright) wouldn′t hear of anything else and consequently commandeered the van′s cassette player. I must admit tho′ that I did admire the talents of Will Lee, Anthony Jackson, Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson and the hordes of others with whom I was force-fed between the A1 and the M23.
Anne Haigis 1986 - Musicman Fretless Bass Did a short tour as backing group for Mick Jackson (Blame it on the Boogie, Weekend) and split. Quite a relief as I was suffering severe back-pain as a result of 3 years almost constant touring, and lugging a Rhodes piano, a CP70 and various amp-racks and bass-bins up and down fire-escapes across the land. I needed a rest! It didn′t last!

1980-86 Played on various studio sessions produced by Yorkshireman Mick Jackson, then living in Paderborn, and came into contact with many German musicians. Joined “The Amoebas” a “post-punk ska-funk” band with great songs and big ideas. Made the Demos, played the showcase gigs, made the right moves and got nowhere. Timmy the songwriter actually quit music to become a teacher... quite unlike his idol... Sting! Played Club dates with Jamaican Soulman Jimmy James (Now is the Time, I′ll go where the music takes me). Hotel residencies in Dubai and Bahrain with ex members of “Big Business”. More German studio dates with Mick Jackson and with Edo Zanki.

1996 Formed my own band “Pleasure” touring most of Europe and Scandinavia just to keep working and paying the bills. Became a singer!...out of necessity. Although I′d always sung backing and the odd song here and there, the 4, 45 minute sets we regularly played were simply too much for our singers. Eventually found the right singer, became “Molly Cool and the Atoms” and split.

1986, Moved to Stuttgart Germany.

1987-95, Recorded and toured with Anne Haigis, Purple Schulz and Edo Zanki. Toured with Gitte Haenning, played on albums by Acoustic Alchemy (Top 10, US New Age Charts) Hazel O′Connor, Milva, Ina Dieter, Reinhard Mey and many more.

Highlight in August 1989! Played Berlin Weissensee for 90.000 people just weeks before the demise of the DDR.

1996-1999, Became 3rd partner in recording studio with ambitions to support creative musicians and songwriters. Co-produced Scottish singer/songwriter “Fraser” and helped in the development of experimental world music ensemble “Expedicion”,Mr B. is movin a group of 12 musicians from 8 countries on 3 Continents. Founded “Small World Studio”, continued work on “Mr B. is movin” with best mates Glen Turner and Bert Smaak and “Weavill & Harriman”.

2000-02, Played throughout Europe with Kurdish group “Koma Carnewa”.

2003-06, Played and recorded with Chilean singer/songwriter “Veronica Gonzalez”, Cologne′s “Tommy Engel” and redeveloped the studio.

2007--- Teamed up with ex Climax Blues Band guitarist Pete Haycock and Glen Turner in “Pete Haycock′s True Blues”. Recorded live album and toured Germany and Switzerland. Weavill & Harriman became “Harriman′s Northern Tilt” which now forms the nucleus of my current recording project with guitarist and co-producer Oliver Utzt, studio partner Huptus and recording engineers Rawand Ahmad and Harry Neusser.
