Das Phantom ist eine Person, über die man eigentlich nichts weiß. Besser gesagt, man weiß nicht, wieso sie einen so tief berührt hat. Du hast sie einmal getroffen und sie hat ein bestimmtes Gefühl bei dir hinterlassen:
"I dont know where you're from
Don't know where you have gone
Don't know anything about you"
Die Gedanken, Eindrücke, Gefühle und Erinnerungen gehen ein Leben lang nie vergessen. Sie spucken Dir immer wieder im Kopf herum. Manchmal jeden Tag, dann wieder Monate, gar Jahre nicht. Doch auf einmal sind sie wieder da, ein Bild, ein Geruch, ein Klang oder Songschnipsel: Die Erinnerung an die Person flammt immer mal wieder auf und sorgt für ein beklemmendes, wehmütiges, nostalgisches Gefühl.

Aber manchmal fragt man sich, auch mal wütend oder anklagend, ob es der anderen Person bewusst ist, was sie da eigentlich verursacht hat:
