In the wake of several single releases Juicy Heartbreak is the first EP of Berlin rock band Fis Orange and – as the title suggests – it pays homage to the end of a relationship and the feeling of departure contained in the short period of time that follows. Where love, friendship and loyalty end, rebellion begins, and so this EP is a collection of five songs which reflect feelings of pain, dependence, loss and above all liberation in all respects from these feelings – a liberation that is self-confident, sometimes even cynical and then extremely vulnerable once again.
With the first two songs Out of Order and You Need Love it becomes clear that not only heartache sets the tone, but also the distribution and redistribution of power. Scenes of celebration, desire and distorted views are described. You’ll Never Know and Don’t Be Surprised honestly and uncompromisingly portray things that are usually difficult to express.
What is missing up to this point is provided by the EP’s last song – with its jazz and soul sounds Easy stands out above all musically, the mood shifts down a gear and the listener finds peace with a conciliatory feeling.
