Details
Faster, more technical and politically charged punk rock with sharp riffs, detailed and intense drum work, and strong melodies – driven by the unmistakable voice of the singer.
With their new album *Take Care*, MELONBALL present themselves more versatile, faster, and more emotional than ever. The band combines socially and politically relevant themes with deeply personal moments. The single “129” denounces the criminalization of left-wing activists, while “Exist” focuses on the repeatedly threatened right to self-determination. With “Garbage Day” and “Bullshit Revolution,” MELONBALL deliver furious reckonings with right-wing ideology and politics. In contrast, “The Static” sets an emotional counterpoint, describing a relationship that can never quite be grasped. In “Back To My Gut,” the inner conflict between confidence and self-doubt is explored – fueled equally by ideals and criticism.
Musically, the band presents itself direct yet instrumentally refined: multifaceted arrangements meet melodies that linger. The production remains deliberately raw – without frills, immediate and tangible. As a result, Melonball’s strengths stand out more clearly than ever: the distinctive, honest vocals, recorded with minimal post-production, the catchy hooks, and the precise balance between technical playing and melody.
*Take Care* is a serious album that does not sink into resignation, but instead releases energy and makes revolution feel fun. The message: Take care of yourselves, take care of others, and above all, take care of those who cannot do so themselves.
