Live Studio Session - From The Shadow Of The Castle (Album)

Label: BLUES NOTE RECORDS
Release date: 01.06.2026

When Germany’s best blues rock meets pure, unadulterated live energy, nothing is left untouched. On June 1, 2026, The Blind Dog Mayer Group - fresh off their win as “Best Blues Rock Band of 2025”—will release their highly anticipated Debut-EP: “LIVE STUDIO SESSION - FROM THE SHADOW OF THE CASTLE.”

This EP is no sterile studio product, but a high-octane fuel blend that goes straight to your blood. Here, decades of live and studio experience meet British blues, mixed with gritty dirty harmonica blues, top-notch hard boogie, and Texas blues rock—a truly explosive musical combination!

The group led by frontman Blind Dog Mayer, who looks back on over 25 years of stage experience, revives the musical spirit of the 1970s with brand-new original compositions and transports it straight into the year 2026.

The sound is exactly how blues should be: raw, honest, and rousing. - While Blind Dog Mayer sets the tone with his distinctive voice and “Dirty Harp,” exceptional guitarist Dirk Lenz fires off highly emotional solos and hard riffs. The unshakable foundation is laid by the scene’s most powerful groove section, featuring Marco Schmieden (drums) and Michael Jung (bass).

“LIVE STUDIO SESSION - FROM THE SHADOW OF THE CASTLE” is more than just a recording; it captures the essence of a band that lives and breathes the blues. An EP that makes no compromises—rough-and-tumble blues at its absolute best!
