Fans of Jazz, Arno, Sylvain and Lucien gathered after work to play together in the music room of our company building. Arno composed “Square Root”, “Ups and Down”, “Behind the Hill” and “Kaleidoscope” for us. We explored them in our trio and thought bringing a saxophone that would fit perfectly with the compositions. We invited my brother Cedric (...) Mehr anzeigen to join. And with our new quartet, we pursed rehearsals, added one of his composition “Senza Più”, that has already been recorded in a previous album “Bovet-Coleman Trio, It’s time to go, UTR4698”. Together, we explored also freely different jazz standards. We selected, arranged, and recorded three, namely “Witch Hunt (W. Shorter)”, “Katrina Ballerina (W. Shaw)” and the famous Spain (C. Corea). The most recent member of the band, Thomas Walbröhl, joined us with his guitar for two pieces, and composed “Rot”, a swaying ballad, especially for this album.
Our music is resolutely jazz, with groovy and contemporary influences.
This album has been recorded during four days at the Lyceum Club at La Chaux-de-Fonds in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. In this alsbum, we kept the magic with the ups and downs of our “LIVE” setting. We tremendously enjoyed our time together, recording our moments with fantastic sound engineers, Jean-Daniel and Stéphane. They did a brilliant job. Jean-Daniel also managed the mix and mastering of the album. I trust you will enjoy the music as much as we took pleasure in living it.

We would like to warmly thank Loterie Romande, AFG, Lyceum Club International de La Chaux-de-Fonds (Nicole Philippekin) for supporting this project. All pieces were recorded in a “LIVE” format, August 25-28 2021 at the Lyceum Club, La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland, 1000m altitude).
