The BOSS OC-3 is the most boring but also the most reliable base player ever! The signal of the magnetic pick up that goes through the tuner first goes into this device after that. Thanks to the poly mode it only adds an octave to the range you settled up before. In my case I only use it for the lowest string. That means I can play single notes and chords and only the lowest string will have an additional octave below the actual note.
