when I was 15 I picked up the classic guitar and started to learn things by ear just for fun.
later on couple guys in school had a band and they needed bassist so they approached me with the question if I would be interested in joining them as bassist.
I didn't refuse and i did join that band.
shortly after i started to like bass a lot and noticed that when I play the classic guitar I was thinking like a bassist anyway.
With time I discovered the band Dream Theater and this was the point where I took it seriously and started to practice a lot.
slowly i fell in love with the progressive style in general and until now days I love everything that goes in that style be it Metal or Rock or even Art Rock of the 70s.
then came the next big turning point where discovered the Djent Bands like C (...) Mehr anzeigenhimp Spanner and Bulb ala Misha Mansur they pushed me to the next level of complexity and technical approach to the instrument.

Now days I am mainly bassist but with not a traditional approach to the Instrument.
As I always enjoyed classic guitar this became incorporated in my playing. I treat bass as a crossover instrument between bass and guitar.
An Instrument that can play the strong groovy bass line and work with chords as well and since i have 7 string bass as well I don't think that just the guitar players deserve all the fun when it comes to solos ;) Weniger anzeigen
