Beda Bachmayer

Peter "Beda" Bachmayer was born in Salzburg, Austria, on February 17th, 1972.
At the age of four he discovered his love for percussive instruments.

When he turned ten he started studying drums with teachers such as Gerhard Haslauer and Michael Honzak (Fatty George, Friedrich Gulda, ...).

In 1991 he passed his school leaving examination (HTL-polytechnic), then he joined the army as a military musician, where he continued studying percussion with Prof. Rudolf Schingerlin (Mozarteum Salzburg & ORFF - Institut Salzburg).

At the age of 21 Peter went to Vienna where he would spend another one and a half years at the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF MUSIC with Jeff Boudreaux (Randy Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, Lee Konitz, Branford Marsalis, ...). He completed his degrees, which include the General Diploma a (...) Mehr anzeigennd the Professional Diploma (passed with distinction).

Afterwards he attended the KONSERVATORIUM WIEN (Vienna academy of music) for another year to gain national licenced diploma.

Over the years he attended workshops and masterclasses of Jojo Mayer, Deen Castronovo, John Patitucci, Billy Heart, Pete York and Steve Smith.

Since 1994 he plays with a lot of great bands such as:
