Persönliches

Biboul was born in Yaounde, Cameroon, where his two older brothers founded the African avant-garde pop band "We the People". The music of his brothers is Bibouls first professional contact with music. In the late 1970s the family Darouiche moved to Munich.

Here the Darouiche brothers set up the "Kuntah Showband". 4 years they toured trough Europe, the Middle East, America, South America and the Caribbean. At the age of 15 Biboul plays with his brother Pasha, Cesar Granados, Tony Perez and others in the band "Conjunto Boriquen" known as "Connexion Latina".Led by Rudi Füser."Connexion Latina" emerges as the first successful salsa band in Europe.

Later, he Biboul moves to Copenhagen, where he plays with various artists e.g. the "High Life Orchestra" with Amadou and Fred Jahrr Aitkins. Whi (...) Mehr anzeigenle performing at the theatre and working as as percussionist with moviemusic productions he founds the "Voodoo Gang" with his brothers. The band produces works such as “The Return of the Turtle” and “The Elephant's Wedding” in collaboration with Enja Productions, and goes on tour until it's resolution in the late 1980s.

Performances and / or recordings follow with various artists such as Klaus Doldinger (D), Kurtis Blow (USA), Al di Meola (USA), Gil D'Or (Israel), Alfredo Rodriguez (Cuba) with the salsa band under the direction of Irazu Raul Gutierrez (D), Lisa Fitz "Lady Boss" (D), intergallactic Maiden ballet (CH), Ocean Park, "High Life Orchestra", "Sunrise Orchestra”, conducted by Bruning von Alten.
In the 1990s Biboul moves to Paris for 3 years. Here he deals mainly with African music: studio recording and / or performances with Ghettoblaster (Paris, Cameroon), Gui Bilon Camerlocks (Paris, Cameroon), Tzala Moana (Paris, Zaire), La Piro De Mbanga (Paris, Cameroon), New Look Libanko (Paris, Zaire), Tala André Marie (Cameroon), Charlotte Mbango (Paris, Cameroon), Graham Haynes (New York), Mike Ellis (New York),Barry Wedgle, Brice Wassy (Paris) and many others.

Back in Munich. He advocates the CD release "Bitama" with Roberto di Gioia and Adrian Mears as "Babmadu", at the Berlin Jazz Festival. Biboul becomes a member of “Klaus Doldingers Passport”. with the likes of Roben Ford, Johnny Griffin, Till Brönner, Roy Ayers, Randy Brecker, Mike Manieri, Jo Krauss and various others on the guest list.
He plays for the production of the CD "Passport to Paradise" and tours with them through Europe. Biboul plays for the CD production "Tow the Line" by Debbie Cameron beside Othello Molineaux , Ben Besiakov, Gary Thomas, Tomas Franck Moussa Diallo and others.

Biboul plays with Roy Ayers at the Jazz Club "Ronnie Scotts" (London) and participates in his studio recordings.
In the late 1990s he plays with live percussion acts for leading house producers and DJs (Milk & Sugar Recordings, Future Music) in clubs such as "El Divino" (Ibiza), the Love Parade (Berlin) "popcorn "(Cologne)," Nature One "(Koblenz), and others.
Biboul works as composer, singer and percussionist, on the Scales Brothers CD, "Our House", released by Enja Records.
With productions of Cornelius Claudio Kreusch's BlackMudRecords Biboul played on several CD recordings, such as: a.f.r.i.c.a.m.b.i.e.n.t. and Fefe beside Salif Keitah, Richard Bona, Wil Calhoun, Herbie Hancock, Greg Osby und Marvin Smitty Smith. With Brice Wassi he toures through England and they play in the Quenn Elisabeth Hall (London). In 2000 Biboul plays live-percussion-performances on the Barcardi-Promo-Tour "Ritmo", for the music tv channel VIVA.
He plays for the CD-production tour in Germany with "Zoe-Society" feat. Kimany Marley and President Brown. Biboul is the percussionist of the “Jazz-Baltica Ensemble” for two years. Cd, Movie productions and tours through Brasil and Marokko with Klaus Doldinger´s Passport ("Back to Brazil”, ”Passport to Marokko”, ”Passport live on Stage")
Biboul presents his new project “Soleil Bantu”, followed by the CD production “Afrika is calling”, released by BHM-Productions.
Biboul continues to play with Klaus Doldinger's Passport at festivals and in various jazz clubs in Europe, as well as productions with the WDR Big Band.
2010 and 2011 Biboul is invited to participate in the SWR Big Band project Shosholoza, followed by concerts and CD productions with Klaus Doldinger´s “Symphonic Project”, together with the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, and K. D. Passport “Inner Blue”. Biboul plays for production with the hr Big Band feat. Laith Al-Deen.
Along with Joey Baron, Kenny Wollesen, Robyn Schulkowsky, he holds a workshop on the Drum Summit in the Art and Exhibition Hall in Bonn.
