Joao Faisca

In a nutshell, I'm a composer, guitar player and singer at Plasticine.

Plasticine is a fusion/world music band that defies sonic boundaries. They transgress genres by combining progressive rock, funk, jazz, and soul elements and cross geographical borders by injecting afro-beats, latin & oriental influences into their sound. Their melodies are accessible
to a wide range of audiences with varying music tastes. What they do is “weave a global musical tapestry”, as they like to say.

The band formed in 2018 and were nominated for the Best Instrumental performance and People’s Choice at IPMA wards 2021, won the Marginália Battle of the Bands in 2019, and were selected for a Showcase in South Music's first edition.

During 2022, they came out with a new theme about the climate crisis in col (...) Mehr anzeigenlaboration with João Frade, Sickonce, and Perigo Público, the band opened MED Festival (2022 - Loulé) and released
a new album, “The Most Beautiful Skies”. In 2023 had several performances such as Festival F (Faro), Live & Loud (Portimão) and Fatacil (Lagoa). Weniger anzeigen

Berufliches

I'm based in Portugal but visit Berlin often. The band Plasticine plays around 12 gigs per year in Portugal. I'm trying to spread and to find gigs in Germany or around.
Apart from this, i play music professionally doing covers in every sort of venue and event. I play/sing solo (João Faísca) and with a band (The Protons).
