I ONCE UPON A TIME

the first chapter of a life story began - as most lives´ stories do- with the birth of Bro. V.-Michael MAD-later: DAD G.
It was a while ago in the midst of the woods of the Black Forest when the boy grew up playing early with many Rock, Blues and Jazz musicians who influenced him.
Being just a youngster he joined the local heroes live on stage and at studio recordings and soon became one of the most requested harmonica player boys.

II THE TALAR WAS TOO LARGE, THE CHURCH WALLS INSIDE TOO TIGHT, SO REACHED FAR OUT BEYOND THE CHURCH WALLS INTO THE WIDE WORLD....

Writing, performing, touring as "ROCK & ROLL PREACHER & POET" the mission goes on since 1984 when he started studying theology and graduating at the famous "Hum (...) Mehr anzeigenboldt University" of Berlin between 1992 and `94 interrupting his exams for a live music tour.

He travelled and rocked many countries and venues with lots of fellow Rock-, Blues-, Jazz-, Gospel musicians and friends (members of Scorpions,Judas Priest, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa´s Mothers of Invention, or Till Brönner, Queen Yahna, Donna Brown, Golden Gospel Singers, TM Stevens, Reiner Schoene, Franz De Byl, Vince Weber, Weather Girls, Keith Tynes, Blondie Chaplin, Johnny Berlin, .....)
Performing uncountable times in front of TV cameras he always refused to do commercial music just for success… The message combined with music he loves has alway been the most important thing to him.
For his song lyrics he was nominated at least three or four times times "Poet of the year" in the USA. Noble House publishers N.Y., London, Paris asked permissinon to publish his lyrics in a poetry edition in the U.K. and the U.S.

III WHAT IT´S ALL ABOUT - AND WHAT IT´S LIKE TO BE TO BE AN OUTSIDER

Being a christian preacher his vision is to reach out and touch the hearts of people with different cultural or religious backgrounds to share the love and goodness of God (who invented all kinds of good music, such as Rock & Roll,.... ; )
He had even some muslim bros. singing along "Hallelujah" performing the song "Universal ONE".....
There are not many christian artists who had that happen...

After lots of shows, recordings with many great artist and after privatly messing up an almost marriage...- over all those years
"God´s love´s still on the horizon" - looking back this is
Bro. V.-Michael´s life confession (see song list) - every song has been written by life itself!!!

"The upcoming acoustic album "Berlin Baby Universe" was inspired by
"My Little Diva", Princess A., the youngest artists´ family member and her mommy. It´s a tribute to them and all the great people (friends & family -Mike Watts, Joe Dicarlo, Gay Frazier, Fritz Lucht, Queen Yahna, Jacquie Virgil, Frank Winkelmann, Holger Lewin, Ecki Schlatter, Holger Stähle and many more who supported me live on stage and at the studio recordings- including the Heavenly Daddy (we also call GOD) who never let me down...though I deserved it sometimes" ;))

IV TO BE CONTINUED BY THE GRACE OF THE LOVING GOD...

PS: I CONFESS:
Most of the acoustic recordings haven´t ever been mixed or mastered as you can hear due to the "producer" who let us down before doing his job.
Most of the recordings (except "God Bless You!!!" and "Take Care" haven´t even been rehearsed.
We never rehearsed before any gig but thank God, played and improvised always successfully and do so all the time!
We work without setlists to be able to act and react spontaneously on any situation on stage.
So every gig is surprising us as well as our audiences and our personal play time record were 6hrs with one little break of 20-30 minutes and without repetion of even only one piece....;)
That´s how God can work - no excuse for not practising or learning your job well!!! ;)
We all did that at least for decades...

2002/-2005 mehrfach Nominierungen als "poet of the year in den USA" und Veröffentlichungen von lyrics in Gedichtbänden auf Anfrage von Verlagshäusern in N.Y.C., U.K. und F)
