I started playing guitar at age 13 (in 1998) and at first was super into Nu-Metal (Papa Roach), but then gravitated towards more melodic and melancholic guitar music (Muse, Radiohead) and then had a phase of super fast melodic/power metal (Sonata Arctica) and finally arriving at prog metal like Dream theater and Pain of Salvation and solo guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen and Paul Gilbert. I was excited to test my limits of speed and precision, before then slowly getting back into more relaxed music (had kind of a post-rock phase with Sigor Ros, GY!BE etc...) and more 'moderately prog' bands like Porcupine tree, Dredg or The Pineapple Thief. Vocally i mostly enjoy clean vocals (with one exception being Opeth, but their 'clean' album Damnation is definitely still my favourite).
After that i (...) Mehr anzeigenfeel like everything that came before started to mix and now, on top of all the 'old' Bands i listen to, i enjoy newer bands like Leprous, Meer, Vulkan, Artificial Language, Hypno5e, as well as older Bands like Rush or Camel.

I started singing only to accompany my guitar playing but it slowly became more of a focus, even though i wouldn't consider myself a real 'Singer', especially because i think i am not technically trained in singing and also i enjoy vocalists for their characteristic sound rather than singing ability (e.g. Thom Yorke of Radiohead)

Piano has only lately become a sizeable part of my musical life, since i only ever knew how to play a few tunes that i learned by heart. But for about 2 years now i have been teaching myself piano with my own teaching style and focus, disregarding classical sheet music and instead focussing more on chords, chord progressions, modulations and improvisation.

since 2025 i have been the musician for an improvisational theater group. This has given me the opportunity to experiment with sounds and emotions.
