Hey,

I’m Yoshi, a bassist and composer based in Berlin, and I’m looking to start a new project with other musicians who are interested in creating music together.

Musically, I’m drawn to artists like Pino Palladino and Blake Mills, as well as Esperanza Spalding’s Chamber Music Society. I’m interested in music that has a strong sense of groove and melody, with a pop sensibility, but also incorporates interesting harmonies, textures, and arrangements.

I’d love to start by playing with a drummer or someone who plays a harmonic instrument, like guitar or keys, and see what develops from there. I don’t have a fixed idea of the lineup or the final direction yet — I’d rather explore different ideas together and gradually develop the sound through playing and collaborating.

I’m not necessaril (...) Mehr anzeigeny looking for a straight-ahead jazz project or something centered purely around improvisation. I’m more interested in creating original music that brings together different influences, with room for groove, melody, experimentation, and improvisation where it feels right.

I’m also open to musicians from different musical backgrounds and with different influences. What matters most to me is being curious, exchanging ideas, and inspiring each other musically. Whether that leads to a new project, regular jams, or something else entirely, I’m happy to see where it goes.

If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to get in touch!

I’ll also include links to my website and some of my bass recordings below.
