Hiya! My name is Mel, and I am looking for young musicians in or around Freiburg that are willing to become part of a unique project: play in a backing band for original music. I write songs in Pop, Alternative/Indie, and a hint of Jazz - inspirations are eg Laufey, Billie Eilish, and Matt Maltese.
There's gonna be a new wave of music, and I am hoping to make it big(ger), also with the help of this band. I already have new songs to work with: I'm currently working on an album which includes some beats, so having a drummer would be a relief, especially for the live performances. I wanna make sure that we all vibe with each other on a personal level too and have fun making music!
It's gonna be a fun experiment, cause the band will be the first to hear all the new song projects, and we will (...) Mehr anzeigenturn it into a live version together. :)

i can't post all my origInal song demos on here, so check out my profile to hear more - and dm me if you want to know more about the kinda music my album will be like. :)

Requirements:
-you play either the drums, guitar, piano/synth, e-guitar, or bass
-you're a young musician, living in or near Freiburg
-you have some experience performing with your instrument on stage
-you are open-minded and like trying out new original song projects
-you are fine with the idea of playing in a *backing* band
-you don't mind making it onto stage as a band (maybe with some social media presence)

Can't wait to get a band together and perform some original music! :)

Musikalischer Werdegang

My stage name is Meluva, and I’m a british-taiwanese singer-songwriter based in Freiburg! I’ve been passionate about music from an early age; I learned to play instruments such as clarinet since the age of 7, as well as piano, and someguitar and ukulele. After playing the clarinet for 10 (now 12) years, I also had the pleasure to win competitions such as ,,Jugend Musiziert" on a national level.
Joining a choir sparked my interest in singing, which I later explored through little performances at various events. In 2019, my passion for singing and songwriting solidified: I started collaborating with international producers to write for their songs in different genres such as pop, EDM/techno, and Synthwave. Eventually, I discovered my own unique musical style—emotional, sentimental songs.
Now (...) Mehr anzeigen, I write and release original songs under the name Meluva, accompanying myself on guitar and piano and occasionally incorporating other instruments like the clarinet. My genre has developed into "Indie-Soft Pop with a hint of Jazz".

You can find me on Instagram and TikTok under @meluvamusic, where I regularly upload original songs and covers, as well as on Spotify under "Meluva." :)

Official artist description:
Meluva is a singer-songwriter whose music blends elements of pop, acoustic and jazz, reflecting a deep exploration of identity and emotion. Her soft, sentimental vocals and dreamy atmosphere create a sound that invites peaceful reflection and tender storytelling. Originally trained on the clarinet, she now performs her self-written songs while accompanying herself on guitar, ukulele, or piano. Often described as the "musical child" of Laufey, beabadoobee, and Mitski, her style bridges genres with melancholy, emotionality, and passion. Weniger anzeigen
