Xenotime Weniger anzeigen

Bio/Info

Xenotime is a thought-provoking progressive rock band that will intrigue you with its musical stories. The name ‘Xenotime’ refers to the rare earth mineral xenotime, derived from the words ‘xenos’ (strange) and ‘timē’ (honour). The band honours the strange and fantastical elements of life in its music and lyrics, as well as themes ranging from personal identity and family to groupthink and the impact of technology on society.

Like the xenotime mineral, the band’s music can be described as multifaceted and unpredictable. It is at times melodic and smooth, at times loud and abrasive; at times dense and wild, at times sparse and atmospheric. Some of Xenotime’s prog influences are Rush, Opeth, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Yes, Queensrÿche and Pink Floyd, but there are plenty of influences f (...) Mehr anzeigenrom other styles as well.

Xenotime is all about authentic human emotion. The band plays original music only and writes its songs, lyrics and other content without the use of AI. Likewise, its recordings are human-made, without resorting to pitch correction or snapping notes to a grid. Playing live, the band goes for a raw performance instead of a pre-programmed show on rails.

Xenotime is based in Bad Bentheim, just across the border between Germany and the Netherlands, and features a mixed Dutch-German roster. It has chosen English as the language for everyday communication and for its lyrics. The band has been around since 2023 and has played several shows in the Netherlands and Germany. It is currently working on its debut recordings with the help of several guest singers. Weniger anzeigen
