TAMAIMA

TAMAIMA is an indie folk project led by Chris Breinl, that exists in the liminal space. A place between places, like the middle between the foot and the peak of a mountain

At its heart is Chris' 5-string tenor bass, an instrument that bridges the gap between bass and guitar, delivering harmonies and grooves that resonate with emotional depth while breaking with traditions. Drawing from world music influences, electronic textures, and ambient atmospheres, TAMAIMA creates a sound that explores contrasts—light and shadow, chaos and stillness.

Set to release in early 2025, the debut EP "MAGPIES" reflects on outgrowing past selves with a mix of nostalgia and resolve. Chris’ inventive bass lines weave through haunting vocals and mournful flutes, creating a sound that sits between Sufjan Steven (...)
