SoundGroundBerlin

SoundGroundBerlin (SGB) ist eine Initiative zur Unterstützung aufstrebender Künstler. Es wird hauptsächlich Kreativen unter die Arme gegriffen, die noch keinen größeren Bekanntheitsgrad erlangt haben.

SGB wartet mit einem ganzheitlichen Konzept auf: Künstler aus den verschiedensten Bereichen werden zusammengeführt und können an besonderen Orten ihrer Berufung nachgehen. Und für das Publikum stellen die Liveveranstaltungen eine Pforte dar, durch die es künstlerisch als auch topographisch den subkulturellen Raum einer Großstadt betreten und dessen Reichtum für sich entdecken kann.

Bei den Shows werden meistens Berliner DJs und VJs mit einbezogen – und weitere Künstler aus anderen Bereichen. Das Motto: Je partizipativer, umso besser.

Wozu das Ganze?

Es soll aufgezeigt werden, welchen (...) Mehr anzeigenkünstlerischen Reichtum es im Untergrund gibt („Artists-Guide“).

Die Events finden an besonderen Orten statt. So wird das interessierte Publikum in subkulturelle Räume Berlins geführt, von denen es vermutlich noch nie was gehört geschweige denn gesehen hat. („Location-Guide“).

Da verschiedene Künstler über die Plattform SGB miteinander in Kontakt treten, wäre es schön, wenn nach und nach eine solidarische Künstlergemeinschaft daraus hervorgehen würde („Creative Community“).

Den Auftakt machte ein zweitägiges Showcasefestival im Club Gretchen im Rahmen der Berlin Music Week. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde auch ein SGB-Sampler veröffentlicht, auf dem sich die beteiligten Bands zusätzlich präsentieren konnten.

SoundGroundBerlin - Hey! Ho! Let’s go!

Berlin is an adventure playground, in which many creative people can artistically run wild, try ideas out and fulfill their ambition! They produce the vibrations that let us become children of this city worldwide. But the next generation right in front of our door needs support.

SoundGroundBerlin (SGB) stands for this helping impetus and brings fresh sound to our city: raw, uncut, authentic – without fitting the cliché of the unlistenable or the extreme.

We started with a compilation, on which musicians from Berlin present themselves ("Artists guide"). It was only for those who haven't had a record contract yet – despite maybe having founded their own label, so they were able to publish via a record label at all.

As you might imagine regarding a sampler from the melting pot of Berlin, the participants have roots in France, Italy and Spain, as well as in Turkey, USA, Brasil, and many more countries. The sampler is followed by a concert series and a festival in terrific but quite unkown and hidden venues ("Location guide").

SGB has a strong cooperative approach. We like to work with all the creative people out there and encourage them to share their dreams and ideas with us. Step by step we become a big family, that take care for their members and supports them. ("Creative Community").

We wish, that through these actions the young artists receive more public attention and have an easier entrance into the music business. Of course there are many more musicians in this city trying to live their dream. They rehearse at remote locations and move in a cultural sphere one seldom comes across.

SGB wants to encourage you, to take the chance to go with us on exciting discovery trips into the Berlin underground scene and to immerse into its unique soundscapes.
