Troy Petty Unveils Empowering New Single “Freakshow”
October 25, 2024 – Berlin, Germany — Troy Petty, the indie/alternative singer-songwriter with a reputation for profound storytelling and sonic experimentation, releases his powerful new single, "Freakshow." This track, the second single from his forthcoming album The Only Way Out Is Through, speaks to the heart of personal courage, authenticity, and self-acceptance.
In "Freakshow," Petty—an artist originally from Chicago and currently residing in Germany—dives deep into the journey of embracing one's whole self, flaws and all. The song explores the courage it takes to stand in our own light, unapologetically owning every piece of who we are. Petty’s message is clear: the aspects of ourselves we may fear are too "ugly" for the world to see are often our most beautiful, resilient traits. Set against a backdrop of haunting, atmospheric arrangements and alternative textures, "Freakshow" is a powerful anthem for anyone learning to shed the fear of judgment and lean into self-love.
Released independently today, "Freakshow" marks a significant milestone for Petty as he continues his journey across Europe, connecting with new audiences ahead of the The Only Way Out Is Through LP, expected in Winter 2025. This single is a fearless reminder to keep growing, to never let fear hold us back, and to embrace the beauty of our inner “freak.”
"Freakshow" is now available on all streaming platforms.
