Since 1984—the year VAN HALEN released their sixth album—BATES MOTEL have been making music in the Westerwald region. Often unnoticed beyond local village pubs, they’ve stayed true to their motto: never give up, keep fighting, and reach for the stars—with humor, self-irony, and passion.
Their 80s-inspired, keyboard-driven sound won loyal fans. Highlights include their 1993 single “Don’t Walk Away,” featured as Record of the Week by Frank Laufenberg, a 2016 nomination as Best Progressive Band at the German Rock & Pop Awards, and a Radio BOB! feature marking 25 years of the band.
Today, BATES MOTEL are still going strong—synths blazing, guitars loud, retro vibes alive, and the energy of a band that never quits.
