Korona

Korona is an internationally known alternative metal band from Frankfurt a.M., Germany and often credited for popularizing the nu metal genre in Germany and Europe after its breakthrough in the US.
What had long been common in hip-hop Korona has used for their concept in rock music as one of the first bands ever. Almost all the languages spoken in the band, English, German, Italian and Yugoslav, were used in the lyrics of almost every song. Korona called this language mixture "City Speak" in reference to the movie "Blade Runner".
The band has initially published several unofficial EPs worldwide since 1996. In Milenium 2000 Korona unofficially released the album "Blame", in which already electronic sounds, especially in the drums and drum beats take part of their music. This was followed by (...) Mehr anzeigen a European tour and performances with Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Mudvayne, Ill Nino, Static X, Him, Papa Roach, Tool and others, festival stations like Rock on the Ring, Rock in the Park, Roskilde or Gods of Metal.
With the official debut album "Breaking The Silence", which was released in 2005, Korona finally became successful and achieved a lot of hits in the rock and metal internet charts in Germany, England, Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Russia, Japan, South America as well as in the United States of America.
In 2008, Korona took a break. Although the band has confirmed that they have composed a lot of new musical material, so far no other album has been released. Korona has not been officially dissolved yet. Weniger anzeigen
