Hi everybody!

I'm Max, a drummer with about 25 years of experience in practicing and playing lots of genres, incl. Funk, Jazz, Metal, and Blues. If you wanna hear a song that represents these genres, check this one by former band Sentryturn where I play the drums: youtube.com...h?v=_J4m1MDnssw
I still love that song but I'm searching for sth. way simpler now, could be pretty much any of the genres listed in this add - existing band or building sth. new. What I care about is that it grooves (I take responsibility for this), that people can dance to it, and that we have fun. "Quality" is also important for me, so please listen to a bit of my stuff and send recordings if you have some.

I'm open to join a rehearsal, meet up somewhere to chat, jam, and see whether we fit persona (...) Mehr anzeigenlly and can make music together. Some specific thing I could imagine would be a project where we take dance songs, e.g., Doja Cat, LISA, Ariana Grande, and play those live with in a guitar, bass, vocals, keys, drums kind of setup. Maybe not as crazy as Dirty Loops but sth. into that direction. I imagine this could be lots of fun.

I have no intentions of becoming a professional music, making money with it, or going on tour. I have a job outside of music that I like and that takes most of my week, so none of that is important to me. The best part about music for me always has been to "create" it, whether that is song writing or jamming sth. together. Playing live and people having fun is also great but less important to me.

If you have questions, please ask ;) Natürlich auch auf Deutsch, ich wollte das hier nur nicht zwei mal schreiben ;) Weniger anzeigen

Musikalischer Werdegang

Hi everybody!

I'm Max, a drummer interested in lots of genres and instruments. Looking back at about 25 years of making music, the thing I'm most proud of is the album I recorded with my band Sentryturn in Berlin in 2019. For one of the more melodic songs, I organized the recording and production of a music video: youtube.com...h?v=VjvLT8fgsMY For one of the more technical songs, I recorded a drum play through: youtube.com...h?v=LVktGntlD-g If you wanna hear more, here's the full album: open.spotify.com...UPqaa3lMww From 2014 to 2024, Sentryturn was my main band in Berlin, and I was involved in song writing, organizing concerts, and all other things.

Before Sentryturn, my main band was Hello Tomorrow. We were w (...) Mehr anzeigenriting songs, jamming, and having fun from 2010 to 2013. And before everybody left to different cities to study, we also recorded an album: open.spotify.com...MP55624Ulg My favorite song these days is "Outro", I remember mixing this on my cheap monitors only too well ;) On some songs, e.g., "Be Alright", I even played the bass.

In addition to these bands, I played in big bands, live cover bands, and many live jam sessions in Berlin incl. Rickenbackers Music Inn, Artenschutz Theater, and Bei Ernst. Overall, probably a triple number of live gigs on the drums with anywhere between 1 and 500 people listening.

For drums specifically, I also took lessons at my local music school (2006 to 2012), so I can read sheet music. In 2015, I also took a few lessons with the great Thomas Alkier.

Apart from the drums, I regularly grabbed string instruments, primarily the guitar but also bass and ukulele. So I have some basic understanding of music theory and can contribute to songwriting.

Whatever the genre is: the drums have to groove ;) For me that can be a light funky groove, a bouncing dance groove or a heavy metal groove. Weniger anzeigen
