The Lyrics “Stand your ground and I guess you will make it through“ from their 2023 debut single are a good introduction for the Leipzig based german Band Sellout Alley. The five friends have been making music together since 2020 and came to stand their ground with Rock and Pop-Punk music and to make the ‘sellout’ their own reality. Musically this translates to two guitars blasting from analog amplifiers, coupled with a raw bass, fast drums and an ironical controversy between soft keys, rock-organ, and synthesizer. Criticizing society, a sense of humor and a bit of blasphemy finish off the foundation of the band, that spread from a small garage in east Germanys Erfurt, through the local club scene all the way to a local brand in town. After establishing themselves in the local newcomer scene, the band - especially due to their energetic live-performances - reached a temporary high in 2023 by winning the finals and several additional prizes after winning Thuringia’s biggest state-wide music contest in 2023, proving they can captivate larger audiences and the jury in front of large open-air stages. This was followed by small festival debuts in Germany, a move to Leipzig and the next studio session for their second EP, which underlines the development of the band and sets their ambitions for the future.
