The Romantidote

The Romantidote is the musical alter ego of Berlin-based Scottish singer-songwriter Calum Bolland. Blending melancholic indie folk with tragicomic theatrical performances, Bolland draws inspiration from Bob Dylan, The Magnetic Fields and Flight of the Conchords, filtering love, disillusionment and modern life through an unmistakably self-deprecating lens.

Conceived in Berlin in late 2019, The Romantidote has since released three EPs: Never Been to Berghain, The Diary of a Recovering Cynic and Curios & Odd Ditties. His releases have received multiple Spotify editorial placements and coverage from publications including The Skinny, while his live career has included European touring, a sold-out headline show at Berlin’s LARK and performances alongside artists including Hamish Hawk.

Recorde (...) Mehr anzeigend in Berlin with long-term collaborators at L.A. Recordings, the project brings together some of the city’s finest musicians around Bolland’s distinctive songwriting.

The Romantidote is currently working on debut album dhachaigh, an introspective exploration of home, identity and belonging shaped by almost a decade of life abroad.
