Dunning Kruger

Dunning Kruger takes their name from a concept in psychology. The theory of Dunning Kruger suggests that those who are unskilled in a particular discipline often suffer from a cognitive bias whereby they overestimate their own abilities and suffer from inflated egos. Entirely unrelated is Dunning Kruger the band. Those guys represent the greatest, premier, most rockin’ band to ever come out of Germany.

The band is made up of four guys: The Kevski (guitar and vocals), Blake (guitar and vocals), Peter (Drums) and Paddy (bass) (see dunningkrugerband.wo... under BIO individual descriptions). Fate brought them together to bring musical enlightenment to the masses of Mun (...) Mehr anzeigenich.

Destiny began its course by pulling most of Dunning Kruger to Germany. The Kevski and Blake met each other in a mutual German language class. After one epic bout of drinking someone uttered the epigraph that precedes formation of all world class rock ensembles: “man, we should so form a band!” God’s will was under way.

Blake and the Kevski started jamming away in the Kevski’s flat. With the Kevski’s neighbor banging on the walls, they started writing some of the first tracks. Soon through the magic of internet forums they met up with Paddy.

Escaping from the confines of the Kevski’s flat (and much to the pleasure of the neighbors) the guys soon were directed to a practice studio elsewhere in the city. Again, here serendipity favored Dunning Kruger. As the musicians entered their rented studio they found the band’s missing puzzle. Providence shined once more on the band when they discovered Peter already in the room practicing the drums. Peter stayed to jam for the evening and the first real Dunning Kruger practice session was under way.
