The Hungarian Grammy Award-winning FIRKIN have played over 800 concerts in 18 countries – CAN, FR, UK, CH, ES, NL, BE, DE, IT, AT, CZ, PL, SRB, SLO, SK, RO, UA, HU. Within 18 years Firkin have become one of the best headliner acts of small and medium-sized festivals and a frequently requested band by major festivals as well as prestigious venues.
2009 Their 1st album entitled Firkinful Of Beer (Universal Music) became golden album within a year and the title song was listed on a compilation album of the world's best folk bands. (Almost St. Patrick’s Day, Reedo Records, 2009, DE).
2010 Firkinful Of Beer was nominated for Hungarian Grammy Award (Fonogram) followed by five further nominations (2013 - WHUP!, 2014 - Igyunk Pálinkát, 2016 - Finger In The Pie - winner!, 2017 - Start Again, 2018 – (...) Mehr anzeigen Into The Night)
2011 With their song entitled Lord Of The Dance, Firkin ruled Celtic Radio Charts for 4 consecutive months in Canada and Germany.
2012 Firkin recorded their 1st live DVD entitled Keep On Firkin
2013 Firkin composed a unique semi-theatrical performance entitled Jumpin’ John at Palace of Arts (Müpa Budapest - Hungary's best known cultural institution).
2014 Firkin released their 5th LP album entitled Finger in the Pie. Firkin’s live energy rocked two major festivals as well: Wacken W:O:A 2014 (DE), for the first time and Sziget 2014 (HU) for the fourth consecutive year.
2015 Firkin was mentioned among the very bests on international toplists: UK – Modern Rock Top 20; Germany – 3rd best Celtic Punk Rock album; Ireland – 2nd best Celtic Punk album; USA - The World's Leading Songwriting Competition – Top 10, Finalist (category: Rock/Alternative).
The band was honoured to play with Flogging Molly, one of the greatest band of the Celtic punk rock genre.
Hungarian National Music TV broadcast Firkin’s 7th birthday concert @ Akvárium Klub, Budapest.
2016 Firkin celebrated NYE at the legendary Dublin Castle, London.
After winning Hungarian Grammy Awards (Fonogram 2016) with the album Finger In The Pie, Firkin was nominated for Independent Music Awards (USA) in the category of Rock/Hard Rock Album!
Firkin’s platinum hit ‘Focimese’ became the official song of the Hungarian football team at UEFA EURO 2016 on compilation album Bon Voyage (June 2016)!
2017 Firkin headlined numerous festivals with their crazy energy all across Europe and invaded the main stages of major festivals like Summer Breeze (GER), Rockharz (GER), Czad Festiwal (PL), Sziget Festival (HU) in the framework of Into The Night Tour.
The 2018 album (We Are The Ones) has been featured in the international TOP 10 charts in several places, and according to the editorial opinion of Folk’n’Rock (USA), it has become the Best Album of the Year.
In 2019, the band took part in an international anniversary tour, which started on the A38 Boat in Budapest with a “loud” and an acoustic concert with TV recording.
In February 2020, Firkin came out with a single in Hungarian.
In 2021, the German band Saltatio Mortis released a compilation album (Aus Fremden Federn) featuring a remake of the band Firkin (Bread And Games), in the company of several famous bands such as Russkaja, Shandmaul, Versengold, Subway To Sally, Kissin ' Dynamite. In this year, under the care of Hungarian and German producers - the renewed Firkin will be releasing new songs and clips, which will lead the album to be released in 2022 and the tour that will follow. A Still Alive! video clip from the latest song won 6 international film awards and 6 nominations.
The singles "Song of the Sailor" (in Hungarian) and "For A Life" were released in 2022.
In 2023, at the peak of their creative power, the band released their new album 'Spice It Up' at Drakkar Entertainment (Soulfood/Believe). At the Rockharz Festival 2023 the band started his Album Release Tour.
In 2024 the band focused on their Hungarian audience, releasing two albums in Hungarian: one was a children's musical (Rumini), and the other an authentic Firkin album titled 'Kocsmadalok' (Pub Songs).
In 2025, the band won Hungary’s highest music award, the Fonogram Award (often referred to as the Hungarian Grammy Awards), for the second time!
In 2026, the Polish-language version of the family-musical was released under the title Rumini na Lustrzanej Wyspie. The band was also selected as finalists on the Hungarian TV show A DAL. Weniger anzeigen
