Ky-enie is a true expression of Reggae’s versatility.
His sizzling live performances take you on a journey that is rooted in Reggae but makes stopovers in Dancehall, Rock, and Acoustic Soul. While most of his contemporaries are voicing on riddims and exploring the party scene, Ky-enie’s songs, both fast and slow,hold a consciousness beyond his years. His blend of spiritual vibes and hardcore truths show the listener an amazing depth of understanding. When asked about his lyrical strength he replies, “My inspiration comes from everyday life and mostly from the Most High; He’s the one who penned all the work.” Born in St. Ann in Jamaica, W.I., Ky-enie decided as a teenager that he would pursue his passion for music.

The energy from the audience just hypes me up.” He used that time to hone his skills and cultivate his own voice. Soon he found himself moving in a different direction from the many performers who simply followed the popular trends. Ky-enie has since remained true to his talent and stayed the course, never sacrificing his lyrical integrity. Ky-enie is now turning out audiences from Jamaica to Canada to the USA. With his hard-edged vocal style and explosive stage presence, he always leaves the crowd wanting more. “I deliver;whether it’s one person in the audience or a million. That’s what I do, I deliver. I never fall short ona performance.” He counts among his inspirations the late Robert Nestor Marley, Buju Banton, andTracy Chapman. When he is performing on stage he wants his audience to “feel the positive sideof the music and where I am coming from. I’d like them to feel the spiritual side of it as well as the party vibe.” Fans can’t wait to hear more from this artist who has opened for headliners such as Sean Paul,Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Half Pint and Shaggy. His first single “Wings of an Angel”, a self-produced ballad that has received international radio play, was recently released on the Big Yard imprint with distribution by VP Records along with “Don’t Wanna Be Alone” and “Times Rough”.The sincerity of this song coupled with his earnest guitar playing and a first rate video already has industry insiders paying full attention. Ky-enie’s humble nature, along with his fierce determination and uplifting attitude, has clearly positioned him for success. For the past year and half Ky-Enie has headlined for Riddim Runway and Island Style festival in Florida, and has driven the massive wild at the Best of the Best concert in downtown Miami and at the Delaware Reggae festival (a tribute to reggae).
