„Keltischer Folk, kraftvoller Heavy Metal, Kilts, Dudelsäcke, ausdrucksstarke Hymnen und Melodien, die zum Mitsingen einladen…“. Man mag nicht glauben, dass eine solche Band aus Argentinien stammen könnte — doch Triddana beweist meisterhaft das Gegenteil!
Die Band wurde 2011 in Buenos Aires gegründet; namensgebend ist das irische Wort „Troideanna“, was so viel wie „Kämpfe“ oder „Schlachten“ bedeutet. In ihrer Heimat haben sie sich schnell mit ihren Top-Performances, ihrer Bühnenpräsenz und Metal-Celtic-Fusion einen Namen gemacht und damit leichterhand sowohl Folk- (...) Ihre ersten Singles brachten ihnen mit der Zeit auch im Ausland eine solide Fanbase ein — als „Ripe for Rebellion“ (2012) erschien, landete die Band durch den Hype unter Fans und aufmerksamen Medien zum ersten Mal auf den Seiten des Metal Hammer Magazins (Deutschland).
Der Erfolg ihres zweiten Albums „The Power & the Will“ (2015) ebnete ihnen den Weg zu ersten Gigs in Europa im Sommer 2016. Die Band trat zwar nur auf einer Handvoll Festivals in Deutschland und Spanien auf, doch zeigte das Publikum eine so begeisterte Reaktion, dass die Rückkehr im nächsten Jahr gesichert war. Dies war der Beginn von Triddanas Weg, sich in der europäischen Szene zu etablieren: Mit jedem Mal, mit dem die Band auf die Bühne stieg, nahmen ihre Touren mit der Resonanz des Publikums immer weiter Gestalt an.
In der Folgezeit traten sie jedes Jahr abwechselnd in ihrer Heimat und Europa auf und spielten immer mehr Gigs und vor größerem Publikum. Trotz der intensiven Touraktivität ließ ihre Musikproduktion nicht nach und sie erweiterten ihre Diskographie um „Twelve Acoustic Pieces“ (2017) und „Rising from Within“ (2018). Während der Covid-Jahre begannen sie an Material für ein neues Album zu arbeiten, und das Produkt dieses Schaffens erblickt nun das Licht der Welt: Im Mai veröffentlichten sie ihre erste Single, „The Ground of the Fallen“, und während ihrer letzten Tour promoteten sie die EP „Wasted Paradise“ mit weiteren neuen Songs.
Bis heute nimmt die Aktivität der Band kein Ende — nach insgesamt fünf Reisen zum alten Kontinent, weiteren Features in der Druckausgabe des Metal Hammer Magazine und als Stammgast auf dem Mittelalter-Kanal von Radio BOB (Deutschland) ist klar: Triddana ist gekommen, um zu bleiben.

“Celtic folk music, powerfully played heavy metal, kilts, bagpipes, expressive hymns and an invitation to sing along with each melody..." You might not think this can be a band coming from Argentina, but it can be so and Triddana masterfully prove it!
They were formed in 2011 in Buenos Aires, the band's name derived from the Irish word "Troideanna", which means "fights" or "battles". They quickly forged a reputation in their homeland with their top performances, onstage charisma and Metal/Celtic fusion that easily caught up both folk metal fans and audiences beyond the genre. Their first singles gradually earned them a solid core of followers abroad as well, and by the time "Ripe for Rebellion" (2012) was released, the hype around the band among fans and attentive media made them land on the pages of the Metal Hammer Magazine (Germany) for the first time.
The success of their second full-length release, "The Power & the Will" (2015), definitively paved the way to their first gigs in Europe, in the summer of 2016. The band only appeared in a handful of festivals in Germany and Spain, but the reaction from their audiences was so enthusiastic that their return next year was secured. This was the beginning of Triddana's journey to establish themselves in the European scene, every tour taking shape with the resonance left behind every time they climbed on a stage.
In the time that followed, they kept alternating gigs in their home country and in Europe every year, successively performing more gigs and for larger crowds. Their music production didn't slow down despite their intense activity, and they extended their discography with "Twelve Acoustic Pieces" (2017) and "Rising from Within" (2018). During the covid years they started working on material for a new album, and the yield is now starting to see the light: in May they released the first single, "The Ground of the Fallen", and during their most recent tour they promoted the EP "Wasted Paradise" with more new songs.
Their activity never ceases to resonate and after five visits to the old Continent, further features in the printed edition of Metal Hammer Magazine and a regular presence on the Mittelalter channel of Radio BOB (Germany) it is quite clear that Triddana arrived in the scene to stay. Weniger anzeigen
