William Bleak

William Bleak started as a solo project, free of genre restrictions yet focused on the darker sides of music - be it with the surf goth sound of debut album “Songs of Death” or the new wave-damaged single “Felt this way”.

In May 2022, a new line-up formed with American multi-instrumentalist Logan (also active under his given name Logan Gabriel) and greek bass player Yorgo (previously of greek hardcore band Never-trust) joining in to begin work at a breakneck speed; in only four months the band put together a fresh setlist and recorded their first single “I don’t like you”, a scathing attack on the pitfalls of digital love.
Their sound lies between grunge-inspired alternative rock, frostbitten post punk and manically unstable pop.

After a course correcting shift towards a darker, moodier (...) Mehr anzeigensound, they released the singles "Pray for Rain" and "Felt this way" (a re-imagining of the previously song, now with the full band), shaping the sound that will define the new record currently being recorded.

On Valentine's Day 2023 they released their new album "Viva Lost Love", a forlorn blend of melancholic Post Punk, furious grunge outbursts and dreamy soundscapes, a document of half-remembered memories and half-forgotten dreams.

After a tumultuous shift in line-up, a string of increasingly successful gigs and a thorough transformation in concept, William Bleak re-emerged in the 2023 Winter as a drum machine-driven cold wave coded project, trading dreamy reverence for a brutal, raw sound. Exactly a year after "Viva Lost Love", the band released "Crows & Ravens", a critically well received anthem & love letter to the goth scene, ushering in a new era for the project.
