How To Loot Brazil

For 20 years straight, How To Loot Brazil have consistently cut their own path without a care in the world. Described as “probably Germany’s best indie band” (OX) and “even more genius than the band itself can imagine” (VISIONS), they still remain largely under the radar – probably because they don’t exactly meet the demands of social media. They simply have nothing to sell but the music itself.

And there’s a lot of music: ten studio albums, one EP and numerous remixes for other artists underline their impressive work ethic. Their sound can hardly be categorized, but is maybe best described as eclectic indie pop with an attitude – ranging from fast and angry (post-)punk with riot grrrl-style shouting to anthemic indie rock and acid-flavoured dance music, all tied together by an undeniable (...) The common thread running through all their songs is an undisputed commitment to great, catchy melodies and a frenetic drive to write the ultimate pop hook.

Since How To Loot Brazil started sharing some of their a cappellas, hundreds of producers from around the world have remixed their music, including Never Surrender (NL), French Fuse (FRA) and Mojjo (BRA). Most notably, Kodak Black sampled the chorus of How To Loot Brazil’s “Errror” for his massive hit “Super Gremlin”, which was certified 6× Platinum by the RIAA and has amassed more than a billion streams and views worldwide.

How To Loot Brazil are completely DIY. Apart from their debut album “Auto Fister”, released on Frank Popp’s TV Eye label, they release their music through their own digital label “Look! Mum! No Hit!” without third-party promotion or distribution support. They write and produce everything themselves in their home studio in Soest, Germany.
